      I have been a clothing design specialist  since 1974  and started in the Washington DC area. I used to design and make gowns for the brides, but I soon became well known in the Washington area, Virginia, Rockville, Maryland, Gaithersburg and the surrounding areas. The bridal shops began referring their brides to me for alterations and soon I had to choose what I preferred....and it is the alterations. I find the challenges exciting and rewarding for both the bride and for myself.

    I can do anything from making a "too small" dress into a corset back because the bride becomes pregnant, or adding shoulders and sleeves because it is going to be a Mormon wedding, or even putting a double French bustle in a gown so the bride can have a sweep train going down the aisle and then take it up for the reception.

      I have been featured in the Washingtonian Magazine, I have been included in “Best Weddings” and you can find my name  mentioned several times on the Wedding Knot Website. If you googled my name, you will see several wonderful comments come up in the search including yahoo listings, yelp and wedding wire.

     Also from “Yelp.com”...” I recently got married and purchased my gown it arrived too small. I saw Dawn for my fitting and I was about in tears as my wedding was a week away...The shop owner was called over and she could not of cared less about my dress, I guess once the sale is made, she is done with you. Thank goodness for the seamstress there..Dawn Brooky...she saw that I was upset and took me back to the dressing room for a private conversation so that I would not break down in front of everyone, including my fiance.     

    She listened to what I felt and heard what I needed, taught me how to use the corset I bought so I would feel comfortable and she reassured me of what she could do to help me....I left there laughing and smiling. I knew I was in good hands. In three days time, she turned everything around for me..made the gown fit, made a coverup for my shoulders ( church rules) and I could not of been happier...I could see that she was so happy for me. She must love her work and puts her whole heart into it.     I now live in the Hagerstown area  and am now offering my serivices to the brides here locally and beyond. I love working with the brides as their happiness is contagious.
